Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm heading to CA on a business trip. Unfortunately, I'll have very little free time, but if it could work to connect with someone, that would be great. I'll be arriving in San Jose on the afternoon of the 19th and heading down to Monterey, where I'll be attending and speaking at the Internet Librarian conference. The conference gets over on the 22nd, when I head back. If you think we might be able to connect, let me know in F2F, or email me at my profile addy.

Art Crawl!!!

BSG return date from Ausiello:

Question: What the frak! Is Battlestar Galactica ever returning? -- Ken

Ausiello: Good news: A Sci Fi source confirms to me exclusively that the last half of season 4 premieres on Friday, Jan. 16, at 10 p.m. Which, by my calculations, puts the series finale (boo-hoo!) at Friday, March 20. Viewing party at Tim Stack's place, and you're all invited.

(Bold and red mine.)

not your mom's socks.

So travels with child is a year old at the end of the month. I'm kind of in awe - with the help of a number of people here, we've rolled out 250 posts, and crossed a couple of big traffic threshholds. We're running ad-free. It's a lot of fun. And in the midst of everything else, I'm very grateful for it.

I went back and read the postcards we did for mother's day and thought it would be a good part of the one-year hoopla if I opened that up again...

So if you've wanted to post something about a trip you took w/ your parents that rocked, or a trip you took with your kid that was something special - or whatever - pick up a blank card here: at our flickr group and drop one in the flickr group.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We just switched out summer to winter clothes and have a lot that mac has outgrown. I thought it might be time to do a Buffista clothing swap again, if you are interested email me with the following info:

What size clothes you have? If they are for boy or girl What size clothes you need? If you are willing to send even if you will not receive.

I will email people with info on who to send clothes to and will keep a chart, so if you never get stuff I can try to track it down.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Just to let you know, every dollar you donate today to No on Prop 8 (California initiative that would make it illegal for gays to marry) is being matched. Details and donation link are here: [link]

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm so pleased to announce I'll be a regular guest blogger at Cocktail Party Physics: [link]

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I'll be reading with Kim "In The Aeroplane Over the Sea" Cooper and Scott "If You're Feeling Sinister" Plagenhoef at the Hammer Museum in LA tomorrow evening at 7 pm. It's free! The reading will include a video or two of Richard & Linda Thompson making music plus some audio comparisons of RT's music and a snippet of an interview. If you're in LA, please come! If you're not in LA, I think there's some cheap last-minute tickets available.
