Buffistas! Please consider sending Health and Human Services a comment on their proposed rule to allow doctors and other health care providers to refuse to give treatments they find objectionable to patients.
See yesterday's Opinion piece by Hillary Clinton and Cecile Richards in the NYT: [link]
LAST month, the Bush administration launched the latest salvo in its eight-year campaign to undermine women’s rights and women’s health by placing ideology ahead of science: a proposed rule from the Department of Health and Human Services that would govern family planning. It would require that any health care entity that receives federal financing — whether it’s a physician in private practice, a hospital or a state government — certify in writing that none of its employees are required to assist in any way with medical services they find objectionable.
The regulation, and instructions for comments (due by Sept 25th) are here: [link]

is up at TWoP. Technically, it's a "weecap." Practically speaking? C'mon, this is me.
PBS is running a poll right now that asks if Sarah Palin is qualified and ready to be VP...and right now more than half the respondents say yes.
Regardless of your political views, if you'd like to share your opinion by taking the poll, it's here: [link]

Time for a new post at Gothic Charm School! Of Goths and School Dress Codes
I have fallen in love with a piece of software I bought to use later this year with my class when we study graphic novels. It's called Comic Life, and it is incredibly easy and fun to use. Plus, under $30! I highly recommend it if you've ever had a desire to make comics but, like me, lack the artistic talent to do so. This Mac program is completely integrated with iPhoto (though I believe there's now a PC version as well), so it's super easy to use your pictures. Buffista parents, I guarantee you would have a blast turning your kidlets into comic book characters using this program.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting about it here is because I used some of the F2F House on the Rock pictures to test it out, and I thought some of you might enjoy the result. It's hardly professional (no snarking at the layout, Pete!), but it took me all of 30 minutes to make and was a lot of fun.
Here's the link: [link]
Enjoy!
ETA: If you want to comment, let's take it to the F2F thread so we don't muddy up Press. (Plus, F2F only has 30 posts left in thread! We can use the comic to kill it off and open a new one!)
ETA2: Edited to fix link
