For New Yorkers, a PSA:
The incomparable Roz Kaveney will be reading, signing and doing a Q&A at 7:00 pm tonight, at Bluestockings, 172 Allen Street. She'll be reading from her new book, Superheroes!" and from the novel in progress. (I'm one of Roz's beta-readers on the novel, and it's fabulous.)
She's also the author of Reading The Vampire Slayer - The New, Updated Unofficial Guide To Buffy And Ange, From Alien to the Matrix: Reading Science Fiction Film, and Teen Dreams: Reading Teen Film and Television from 'Heathers' to 'Veronica Mars.
Go! Roz is one of the single coolest people on the face of the planet, she has possibly the best stories ever (ask her about Christopher Hitchen), and Superheroes is a wonderful book. You will have a seriously good time.
Shoes!

The following Proposal:
Proposed: The creation of a Gaming Thread (clever title to come later), in which people could discuss games: board, LARP, MMORPG, video, tabletop RPG, game theory etc. etc. and all attendant news, developments and ancillary subjects thereof. All would be welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort. This thread could also be used for coordinating/scheduling games either online or IRL and could serve as a cooperative resource for people playing games.
PLEASE TO WHITEFONT SPOILERS for video games, RPG modules or anything for which foreknowledge of events might lessen one's enjoyment of whatever gaming experience.
