I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

unitedhollywood.com has organized Pencils2MediaMoguls with a group of showrunners, including Joss Whedon.

Joss talks about it here.

ION, I'm sending Jesse bags and a check on Monday to take care of WGAeast. I believe we have a few hundred left over to donate to the Solidarity Fund to help non-union workers.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Another message from the picket lines:

I was on the line at Fox yesterday when the strike survival kits were delivered and wanted to thank you all for them.

Afterwards I heard many writers comment on how impressive it was not only that you were so supportive, but that the Buffy community is still so strong.

Being a Browncoat myself I wanted to explain that Joss is special that way, but figured it'd be best to just let them remain mystified.

Thanks again!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

And another one:

I am a WGA writer on strike who pickets in front of the Fox lot. The other day, some of your members dropped off your Strike Survival Kits to the picketers there. I understand you guys took up a collection to do this and show your support.

I can't tell you how much we appreciate it. Fan support is always great, but you guys went above and beyond the call of duty. The bags were quickly snatched up. (And my kids are playing with the Mad Libs right now!)

Thanks again to you and your organization.

I tried to find the appropriate thread to post this in, but my brain is rattled from too much sun, chanting, and walking around in a circle for two weeks.

I just wanted you guys to know how much we appreciated the gesture.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Pictures of my new house without all that pesky furniture and boxes cluttering it up are here

I picked a somewhat wacky color scheme, but I think it works.
