move out and draw fire

It's our annual Try To Get Back Under Our Weight Allowance purge, so the following are free to the first person who asks for each. They are all in quite good condition.

    • The Story of O by Pauline Reage, paperback
    • Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman, hardback
    • Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, trade paperback
    • Sin City TPBs 1-4 (The Hard Goodbye, A Dame to Kill For, The Big Fat Kill, and That Yellow Bastard) by Frank Miller, trade paperback
    • The Globe Illustrated Shakespeare, complete and annotated Gramercy Press, padded hardback with gilt
    • The White Goddess by Robert Graves, paperback
    • A General Theory of Love by Lewis, Amini, and Lannon, paperback

profile addy good

ETA: All books have been claimed. I made the critical mistake of posting and then going to bed, so I went by timestamps on e-mails to determine first-come-first-embookened.

I hate writing the "sorry you didn't get it notes." Wish I could provide books to everyone who wants them!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

F2F Fundage Update!!

At present, we are at $2825. That does not include a check from Lee that I am expecting, nor any other checks that may have been sent.

You are all rockstars.

Question - has the previous party protocol has been to roll the excess money back into the Buffista fund? We did not have a travel fund this year - did we in previous years?

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Poster gone. The rest of you will have to do something else for your Wolverine fix.

What is even happening?

If you didn't catch season 2 of Veronica Mars the first time, it's re-running over the summer. UPN re-runs 2:01, Normal is the Watchword, tonight at 9pm/8 Central. Fire up the TiVo, or VCR, or both.

If you're tied up with House, or another show until next week, the season 2 premiere should re-run over the weekend on your local UPN affiliate. Check TVGuide [link] for your local time/day.

You needn't have seen season 1 to watch season 2. If you'd like to read a summary of season 1 before you give season 2 a shot (you don't need it), you can find a good one at here: [link] and another in my lj: [link] Assume full season 1 spoiilers for both links. No season 2 spoilers at either.

Taunty spoiler for tonight's episode: * Charisma Carpenter. In a bikini. Wet. *

[Warning, there may be spoilers at some of the following links]

Besides, all the pretty, the show is smart, funny, and serves up a nice helping of HSQ, too. Stephen King says he can't take his eyes off it. The writers for Grey's Anatomy are hooked. Kevin Smith calls VM hands-down, the best show on television. And you've all heard how Joss Whedon raves about it, and in fact * has a cameo in a season 2 episode, as does Kevin Smith. *

The truth is, Topic!Cindy even broke up with Buffy for it. Oh. Wait. That's me. It isn't Buffy, and doesn't try to be, because it is smart enough, on its own.

Go. Watch. You can jump in now. The jumping is good.
