Sometimes evil drives a minivan.

Chicago Serenity Press Screening (8/31, 5 pm) free passes still available.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE MESSAGE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU RESPOND. THANK YOU!!

Universal has sent vampirefan 75 FREE passes (each good for 2 people) to a Serenity screening here in Chicago.

What: Serenity When: Wed, August 31st Time: 5 PM Where: AMC River East 322 Illinois St. Chicago

The passes are "first come/first seated" type passes-that means that just because you get a pass it DOES NOT guarantee that you will get in to see the movie. It is very possible that Universal is giving out tickets by other means - so the earlier you get there and get in line, the better chance you have of getting in.

She will plan on getting to the theater by about 1:30 pm so you can claim the passes BUT she is NOT offering to hold a spot in line for you.

She will hold the passes for you up until 4pm and if you don't show up (or arrange someone else to pick them up for you, she'll be emailing her phone number to those who claim passes) she's going to give them away. This may sound harsh, but as soon as they let us in, she's going in and doesn't want to be holding any passes as it may be difficult for her to get back out to give you your pass, plus it may be too late already as the theater may be full by that time and they will be wasted when they could have been given away...

With that in mind: Using the subject line "Serenity Screening Free Pass" please email vampirefan at [ serenity at vampirefan dot com ] with your real name. (No need for groveling or reasons why you deserve a pass.) ONE PASS PER PERSON. As soon as all the passes are claimed, she will send out an announcement and she will send out a confirmation email to each person who successfully claimed a pass.

Peace!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Hear Ye Hear Ye

Voting is now open for the following:

le nubian has proposed a new TV Thread. Because there was disagreement about the spoiler rule in the thread, and several Buffistas opined that they would only want a thread if it adhered to a particular spoiler rule, we are structuring the vote as follows:

  • Vote "Yes" for every option that would be acceptable to you. You may vote yes on as many options as you like.
  • If you want the thread but don't care what the spoiler policy is, vote "Yes" in every option.
  • If you do not want the thread at all, vote "No" in every option.

If more than one option receives a majority of yes votes, then there will be a runoff to decide which thread and spoiler policy is created.

1. We should have a new thread that covers Fall TV (covering new series that debut in September or October) and it should have the following spoiler policy:

a. No whitefont at all. ever. (yes/no/no opinion)
b. Whitefont (with show title in black font) for 7 days. Then fade to black. (yes/no/no opinion)
c. Whitefont (with show title in black font) current season discussion. (yes/no/no opinion)
d. Whitefont (with show title in black font) all the time. (yes/no/no opinion)

2. We should have a new Natter TV thread (covering all tv series - new and continuing that aren't covered in separate threads) and it should have the following spoiler policy:

Discussion for this proposal starts here.

Voting closes Friday, September 2, at 8 PM (PST).

I overestimated my diaper needs...well, not MINE, but Mal's...and find myself with a couple extra packages of Pampers size 2. If you want them, I'm happy to send them; drop me a note at my profile addy.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Hey guys, I'm thinking with the mass migration to gmail, it's time to update the buffista database and/or the birthday list.

The birthday list includes all Buffistas who have e-mailed me with their birthdays and their e-mail addresses. At the end of the previous month I send out a mass mail to everyone on the list of birthdays for the month so e-cards can be sent or thoughtful e-mails or whatever. You can receive the list even if you don't want to be included on it. If you don't want to be on the list, but like the happy birthdays in-thread, please be sure to e-mail Nilly so you can be included on the Buffista calendar if you haven't yet. She announces your birthday on or around the day. There are balloons! (Not really.)

To update or to be included on the list, e-mail me at seresempre AT cox DOT net.

----------------

The buffista database is an in-depth(ish) form to make your next internet axe-murdering stalker's job so much easier. When a member of the board e-mails me and asks for information about you for nefarious purposes in order to celebrate your natal day or send you a pick-me-up, or for whatever happy reason, I send your form to them and they can thus surprise you/remain anonymous/avoid prosecution.

If you've already sent me one, please consider updating as this one has gotten much longer improved immensely. If you don't want to update otherwise, but your e-mail address, mailing address or telephone number has changed, please let me know.

Next post will be the questions on the buffista database. If you'd like people to know only some of it or you don't know how to answer, then skip merrily to your heart's content. You will not be graded on questions left blank.

It is easier for me to handle the data (I'm lazy and just forward) if you put the information in the body of the e-mail rather than as a document attachment.

I swear that I am reasonably careful with your information and do not use it for spam or give it to random strangers. However, if you do not want to give me contact information (and I pretend to understand if that's the case), you might still consider filling out the likes/dislikes portion for posterity.

Please send your responses to serasempre AT cox DOT net.

SA is stuck at LAX until midnight PDT. She wants to hang with some LAistas but can't find phone numbers. Give her a call. Dinner would be good. This message will self-destruct in several hours.

All is well that ends in pizza.

With gas prices going up because of Katrina, I thought I would share my favorite gas price search site it's GasBuddy.com, home of such places as Minnesotagasprices.com, denvergasprices.com, etc. You can usually search down to a small area/city of your state.
