profile address is good.
I have a request for San Diego and/or LAistas.
A friend of mine recently lost her San Diego based sister to ovarian cancer, and the planned home for her sister's orphaned cats has fallen through. These are both elderly cats with typical elderly cat problems, and placing them (especially from a distance) is going to be difficult. My friend is working with one of her sister's friends from animal rescue to try and find a place for them, but the wider the call, the greater the chance that they'll find a home sooner rather than later.
The kitties come with a bequest to help with their care and feeding. By my friend's account, they're sweet little guys, indoor only.
If any of you happen to able to/know someone who would be able to give these guys a home, please drop me a line. (mohmlet (at) gmail (dot) com or cicada (at) cablespeed (dot) com both work.)
Thanks.
You may remember that about a week back I listed some items that we found in our house while doing some spring cleaning. Well, I had listed some items on ebay as well. Two didn't sell. So, if you are female and wear either a size 8 or size 12, I have a box of nice clothes I'd love to send you for the cost of shipping (about $8). Email me if you'd like to see a picture or know specifics of what's in the box.
Please e-mail me at my profile addy asap, as I'd really like to get these boxes out of my house today. Thanks!

March 24, 2005, 7:00PM - 10:00PM Jon Svetkey, Rachel McKibbens & Dawn Gabriel $15 minimum donation / $10 with student ID all profits benefit Abby's House
Jon Svetkey was one of the founders of End Construction Productions (with Ellis Paul, Jim Infantino and Brian Doser,) the songwriter collective that was the catalyst for the resurgence of the New England folk scene in the early 1990s.
In the mid-1990s, Jon opened for acts like Richard Thompson, Loudon Wainwright III, John Wesley Harding, Peter Case, Chris Smither, John Gorka, Cheryl Wheeler, Carrie Newcomer, Bill Morrissey, Danny O'Keefe, and Eddie From Ohio. He also headlined at dozens of folk clubs, colleges and coffeehouses throughout the Northeast and Midwest.
His first two solo albums, this is NOW and yeahyeahyeah, received tons of airplay on folk radio stations, as well as excellent reviews from critics and fans alike. His latest solo album, Take A Breath, was released in 2004.
Jon's songs have also appeared on the Dr. Demento Show, and a couple of compilation albums. Jon has also sung, or played some guitar, on albums by Ellis Paul, Don Conoscenti, and Jim Infantino to drop just a few names. And, in addition to serving as songwriter for The Loomers, Jon is has written a bunch of songs with Don White.
Rachel McKibbens lives in Brooklyn, NY, has appeared on Def Poetry Jam, represented Orange County, CA as their individual representative at the Individual World Poetry Slam Championships in 2004.
Dawn Gabriel lives in Boston, MA, and has been a local favorite for years on the spoken word circuit with her blend of wacky humor and cutting insight.
Abby's House is a multi-service, non-profit organization serving homeless and battered women and children. Founded in 1976 by a group of activists led by Annette Rafferty, Abby's House has helped thousands of women and children make their way out of the chaos of homelessness.

Consuela has tickets she can't use tonight. (She also doesn't have Internet access during the day, which is why I'm posting this.)
I've got 1 or 2 tickets available to Elvis Costello in Oakland TONIGHT at the Paramount. (My sister is sick so she can't go). $45, 8 pm. Reply to my profile addy.
