"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I know this is probably in vain since no Buffistas live anywhere near me, but if you happen to be travelling through the Southland and are within driving distance of Jonesboro Arkansas on March 12, I'm welcoming friends over to my apartment for the Wonderfalls premiere. I'll have chips, dip, wine, cheese, and maybe sushi if enough people seem interested. E-mail my profile address if you'd like to attend.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Guess What? It's another Wonderfalls Party!

This one is for the Somervillains (Boston area folk). I have assumed this awesome responsibility from Victor and Thessaly who are too busy to host (but you guys will still bring the artichoke dip, right?!) I live in Somerville. We'll start at around 7:30 or 8? Email for directions/details.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Minneapolis-St. Paul Area Buffistas:

The first two Wonderfalls eps will not be shown in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market area until after midnight due to High School sports finals.

12:30am Friday night (Saturday, really) for the premiere.

Midnight Friday night for the 2nd ep.

Dunno about after that.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

A friend of mine has a very large number of tickets to this Saturday's matinee performance of the play "Proof" in Philadelphia PA. (The tickets were bought for students in the honors English program at UMBC--two people signed up instead of the expected 30 or so. Oops.)

Therefore, if any Philly area Buffistas (or Buffistas willing to travel to Philly) would like to meet my friends and me and see this play, please contact me at my profile addy.

Our wings are not tired.

In an effort to move forward the plans for a May 21-23 Buffista F2F in the greater DC/Baltimore vicinity I have put together a

Mr. Poll

with potential hotels. Discussion in the F2F thread.

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Depression's continues to touch my own life in many ways, and I know the same is true for some of our own Buffistas. This was in my inbox from Nightline:

TONIGHT'S FOCUS: Depression. Boy, don't you want read further? Of course, not. Who would? Sadly, we in the news business rarely focus on mental illness until there's some celebrity who takes his own life, like actor Spalding Gray, or when someone delusional commits some unspeakable act of violence.

The fact that approximately 19 million American adults suffer from depression is the nation's dirty little secret. We all know it. We just don't want to talk about it 'cause, well, it's depressing to talk about. And yet, and yet, and yet, for those who know, for those who suffer or who have suffered, like myself, and for their loved ones, talking about it, covering it as a major health story, is not only an uplifting acknowledgement that we are not alone, but it offers hope in the form of incredibly effective and available treatment that sadly did not spare the life of Mr. Gray or the nearly 27,000 of those clinically depressed who take their own lives each year.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

In the Minearverse thread, there was some discussion of a resource for quick lookups of tv conventions. I've put up a quick Wiki that might become such a thing. It is here. There are a few "seed" entries.

Any beta activity would be appreciated.
