Xander: Look who's got a bad case of Dark Prince envy. Dracula: Leave us. Xander: No, we're not going to "Leabbb you." And where'd you get that accent, Sesame Street? "One, Two, Three - three victims! Maw ha ha!"

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hey, LAistas!

If any of you have a chiropractor you could recommend could you drop me a note? I've got a friend out there on business who needs one.

Thanks

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

V-Day Doesn't Stop on Valentine's Day

First off, thank you to everyone who came out for the V-Day Worcester production of The Vagina Monologues. The show was a powerful and incredible testament Central Massachusetts' determination to support organizations such as Abby's House, The Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts and the Jane Fund.

Moreover, the show was an awe-inspiring demonstration of what can happen when women's voices, especially those too long muffled, are allowed to be heard.

But it doesn't and can't stop there.

The V-Day event raised a substantial amount of money for our beneficiaries, despite a hefty price for the venue, but it's not a drop in the bucket compared to what's actually needed to put an end to violence against women. The Rape Crisis Center is still facing the shut down of 13 out of 18 facilities, and even on the morning after V-Day, The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported that the Worcester Police Department responds to more than 3,000 domestic abuse calls a year. That's just in Worcester.

To continue the battle against rape and domestic violence, we implore you to continue making donations, all of which will go to our beneficiaries. Violence against women isn't a cause you fight once a year. It's an ongoing battle, and it'll keep going, unless we all stand together to put an end to it.

FF DVDs to the Troops Update

I am pleased to report that our final tally is...$7,287.26 US.

I have posted a list of the contributions received here. Please feel free to take a look. Everyone's contribution should be listed and you should be able to find the record that corresponds to the amount you sent.

If you do not see your donation listed, which should really only apply to people who mailed their donations, please email me ASAP and let me know when you sent it and how much it was for so that I can hunt down the missing funds.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and supported this project. Seven thousand dollars just plain rocks!

ETA: It would seem that the transaction ID that Paypal gives the receipient is different from the one they give the sender.

EATA: Everyone who sent money via Paypal should now have an email from me with their transaction information. Except for those 6 people whose emails bounced. If you are one of those 6 people, please email me at firefly@sgcwebdesign.com for your information.
