I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I keep coffee grounds in my purse to ward off migraine triggers. Works if I'm quick.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Sometimes you just can't, and if the fire's that close, you may be able to smell it from there. When the church about a quarter of a mile away was on fire, we smelled it as if it were in our house.

Also, did they mean to use "Money" as The Apprentice theme song?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK, I took a shower, but the smell was still there. So I figured it was the perfect opportunity to clean the cat box. OK, so there's really no "perfect opportunity to clean the cat box," but for the first time in a while I could actually smell something else. And the cat box smell is pretty benign compared to that smoke smell.

So I was actually happy to be smelling the cat box. Weird, huh?

ION, I am reading The Guns of August - about the the lead up to and the first month of WW-I. Gawd, I knew that the royal families of some of the European monarchies were related, but I didn't know they all were.

edit for sense....

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

So I was actually happy to be smelling the cat box. Weird, huh?

It's a slippery slope, tommyrot. Pretty soon we'll be finding you behind the dumpster at the 7-11, huffing kitty litter. Sad.

Yeah, when that ammonia smell hits your sinuses it burns, but then the the rush, man....

Nah - I'd just get more cats.

Also, I was googling and...

But if the soiled litter isn't replaced and urine begins to collect at the bottom of the box, bacteria found in feces will convert the uric acid in cat urine into unpleasant-smelling ammonia.

so that's where that smell comes from....

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Did you really have to google to find out why the cat box stinks? I mean, I know google knows everything, but...

Well I thought the ammonia smell was in the urine itself, not produced in the cat box when you don't clean it often enough.

I'm watching You're the One That I Want

I haven't gotten to the sing-a-long phase yet. I'm still in the "so why did they name the show after a song, and use it in the opening credits, when it isn't actually in the Broadway version that they're casting for" phase.

Art Crawl!!!

Friday Night Lights fans -- have you guys been watching the deleted scenes on the NBC website?

Because the one's from the most recent episode are great. The second and third one's are excellent. ( Tim makes Landry a sandwich! Tim and Landry meeting with Mrs. Coach! )
