I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It seems to me I heard or read a story about how the spectacular ads of past Superbowls have been recently re-evaluated as not very cost-effective - they got your brand buzz, maybe, but didn't generate the revenue needed to cover the cost. Or maybe that was about the per minute prices going down this year. But there was some perceptual change recently.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Whoo!

(Sorry Bears fans! Any other year I'd have cheered for you.)

I'm glad to see Peyton get his ring.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think I've read that it's become conventional wisdom that "great" ads aren't actually good for selling, which makes sense if you think about it.

I was hoping the Bears would win, but since they played so crappily, they sure as hell didn't deserve to.

Only good thing was that I won that money--most I've ever won betting!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I guess that depends on how they are defining "great." I understanding re-thinking the budgets though.

Well, the ones where the next day you're all, "Did you see that commercial?? With the people flying and the colors and the...! What was it for? I dunno."

We'll know if that's really true if we don't get the Olympics in 2016. That's the sports thing I'm really hoping for. Well, that, and a Cubs World Series, but that'll mean that hell's frozen over, so...
