Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Haven't a number of socially responsible companies run into the same conflict? Ben & Jerry's and The Body Shop come to mind.

Yeah, that sounds right. The real problem is that every industry fucks with people and/or the earth when you go back far enough. I mean, right?

Yay for getting rid of stuff!

And yay for recycling!

Right now, I need to figure out what to do with my tree. I finally managed to put away all my Christmas decorations last night, but I have no idea when they collect trees here.

Not that I think it's really impossible in invest in a socially responsible manner. I'm no expert, but I think Amy Domini does a good job with the balancing act. [link]

The boy who delivers my eggs just told me he got a BB gun for Christmas.

I told him not to shoot his eye out.

You get egg delivery?!

You get egg delivery?!

Yes, every Sunday. And it is made of awesome.

On the downside, I drive an hour across the Chesapeake Bay just to get decent groceries.

So, you're living in the olden days??

I'm watching this ridiculous Identity show on Bravo, and I can't believe Jordan Knight was up there with the one contestant (plus four family members) who wouldn't recognize him.

I'm not familiar with them, but it looks like their money is actually invested by Wellington Mgmt, based on the parameters that Domini sets. That's seems solid, since Wellington is basically Vanguard (full disclosure: the mutual fund company that my consulting company chose for its 401k).

Well, from my porch I see brick sidewalks, colonial houses, and a sailing ship from the 1700s, so, yeah.

She has the Bay Bridge! Which can be seen as either a modern convenience or a modern nightmare, depending on the traffic.

But, egg delivery! That's awesome.

sarameg, to me, this screams out, Whitemarsh Ikea!

Yeah, but I don't think that is happening today. Not feeling like driving 30 miles for it.

Interestingly, the article mentioned above appear, at least in part, in today's Sun paper. The Sun has been running a series (ran, maybe?) on the Nigerian oil problems of late. At least, I think they were exclusive sun reports, I can't quite recall.

OK, back to chores.
