Back from the cocktail party, after 10 minutes. It was outside, and it's too damn cold out there.
Had wine though. YAY wine.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Oopsie! This Washington Post typo must be embarrassing....
Here's their correction:
A Jan. 14 Nation in Brief item incorrectly identified the organization led by Isaac Newton Farris Jr. as the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonsocial Violent Change. The organization’s name is the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change.
I know people who would be in the former organization.
Krav instructors, for one.

Huh. I would have figured you guys were at least a somewhat social bunch.
I was thinking along the lines of some of my craxy ass friends.
Cutiehead Cherub has been spinning in circles so that he can stop and wobble and laugh his cutiehead cherub face off. Cousin has no problem with this other than that he likes to do it on their tile floor, at which point I had to remind her that without even the excuse of being almost 2, she, her sister, and I thought it was really fun to be spun around and around on a 6ft. scaffolding on the flagstone under the bridge downtown in S'port while drunk.
This link has two videos for the price of one: Bill Baily, Chaucer and the Devil's Tool
Here's a lovely bit of everyone's favorite, Bill Bailey, doing a bit known as the pubbe gagge. After the break, there's a bonus bit in which he freaks Jonathan Ross out with a theremin. Lovely.
Bill Bailey is a musician/comedian. I've never heard of him. The first video (the Chaucer pubbe gagge) is pretty funny. The second is funny and strange, as the host is terribly confused by Bill's theremin - he seems convinced that the theremin is not actually making the weird sounds, and that Bill must have an accomplice helping him.

I bought my first song off itunes!
(ok, I know, lame. But I've not done this before!)
Yay sarameg! Soon, you too will know the joys of "Hey, what was that song I liked when I went ice skating with that boy/on that show/on that random compilation cd? I want that song! Ahh. Got it!"
