I don't really have a security blanket... unless you count Mr. Pointy.

Art Crawl!!!

I know -- there has been a run of Buffista girl babies -- now it's all boys.

ita - the women are warming up. They really are playing at 1:30 pm local time. (Weird.)

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I'm happy it's hitting people open to being parents.

I want to be a mother at some point, but that point is not yet in my timezone. DH and I would have to see each other more than every other Thursday only in even-numbered months before the little swimmers have a chance in hell of reaching the promised land.

Your glee at a new nephew is making me grin from ear to ear. D (and the incubating XY) are lucky to have you for an aunt.

I really love kids. This news made me scan through the photos from when D was born and omg, how I love newborns. Just...cuddling. I can almost feel it now. Also reminded of doing that with friends' kids.

And I love all the stages in between. Getting to talk to D on the phone now makes me giddy. Even when he's calling me a squat! Wrestling with him over the camera...

But for me? Aunthood is the deal. I just wish I was closer, so I could play more often.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I hope this baby thing isn't catching. It seems like a Buffista just has to breathe, and someone ends up pregnant. No one even need look in my direction; I'd have a horrible time explaining that to DH, seeing as he's in Detroit right now, and I'm in MD.

If I catch it, you'll all be hearing about the Miracle Baby on the nightly news. Of course, all the cons of my lack of tolerance for rugrats might be counterbalanced by the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of founding a new religion.

Just don't give birth in a stable. It's sooo 0 AD (7 to 4 BC if you want to be accurate).

Tennis: Man that was fast. And beautiful. Serena is fun to watch when she's really on.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just watched last night's Daily Show and Colbert Report, and now I'm a limp puddle of exhaustion from laughing uproariously for almost an hour.

I'm watching Colbert now, and I think I just hurt myself.

Slash! Slash in new places !

Art Crawl!!!

Well over at tWOp and at the Broadcast they're saying that the men's final will be live too. I can't think why comcast is listing Paintball at the time.

So, I'm off to bed so I can get up after 4 hours and watch more tennis.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What? It's done?

I'm back early from black belt training. I'm going to take some prescription drugs and wallow in self pity in front of the TV.

Rock on, Friday night, rock on.

eta: Hey! There's tennis on my TiVo. One of us is brighter than I'd thought. Probably the machine. Of course, I went and spoiled myself ahead of time, but there you go. Onward. Drugs.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm awake too late watching skating. They just showed the gold and silver programs from the Juniors competition. That was kind of interesting, but then they interviewed the two girls who won for about five minutes, and that was pretty boring. They're 13 years old, and they talk like most kids that age I know -- one of them answered every question with "Uhhhh...." followed by a very long pause and then the shortest answer possible. The other one was bubbly and hyper and used "like" as every other word. Perfectly normal 13-year-old behavior, but doesn't make for terribly interesting television.
