So the idea now is to make him vocalize it and then slowly move into him saying everyone he loves and turn that a version of bedtime prayers I can deal with.

I like that.

JZ, wait until she gives you a hickey! ( I guess not all babies do this, but several of my friends sported blazing marks from their much younger siblings courtesy of "baby kisses"!)

Interactive is fun.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You all may be surprised, as I was, that Mac has an adorable accent.

Also, right now I'm really glad I don't live in the Upper Midwest, god forbid anywhere colder, because it's apparently 21 outside and I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

JZ, wait until she gives you a hickey!

Heh. I bet this will happen with poor Emmett. I've had enough experience with friends' babies that I know how to love her to bits and still keep my guard up, but Emmett is just all smitten and always getting right in her face all open and vulnerable-like. He's suffered some hairpulling, face-swatting and one juicy sneeze in the eyes already, poor besotted boy. She'll totally hickey him before he has any idea what's happened.

And then when my train went above ground, it also went express, so we had to wait outside for the next train. NOT GOOD.

I still have my scarf on. Also a blanket. And the cat.

Swouncing

sara, you're a sweetie yourself. I just have to finish edit this current version of the proposal (I've only got the bibliography left), so that I can e-mail it (and make sure it really got e-mailed this time!) and get comments and corrections by the time I come back.

I'm glad you have the sabbath (I'm blanking the right term)

This *is* the right term. That's the only thing that keeps me going, frankly. Knowing that in 11 hours, no matter what, I will be able to fall asleep as much as I want.

JZ! I can't remember when I last posted with you!

msbelle, that is lovely. Just lovely.

Also, last week (when I got to sleep at nights) I watched "Stranger than Fiction" (which I loved, and maybe once I return to that bad habit of not spending all my time in the university, I'll even throw some large paragraphs at it). It's related to you because the woman the hero falls for (it's not a spoiler, right?) kept reminding me of you, in some aspects (obviously only some, but still. Not in any technical or biographical detail, but in some sort of the "spirit of things". Enough to wonder how mac would fit in her apartment and the like).

so good to post with you, EVEN THOUGH YOU SHOULD BE IN BED! I miss you.

My friend Caleb ended up with a blazer on his chin. When he was 13. OMG, the teasing! I'm torn between wanting to warn Emmett and just letting sibling nature take its course. It's neat to hear of his adoration of her.

It is too damned cold and windy out. Snow has departed for now. It was insane when I was driving home at 6.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Awww,so much cuteness with Mac learning the new language.

turkey bacon? How about the real deal?

What with the doc having halved my cholesterol meds, I thought it would be wise to avoid the worst fatty offenders to avoid my LDL levels shooting through the roof when I'm tested next month. So, turkey bacon and egg beaters in the mornings, and very little butter. (The last being ridiculously easy, since foods on which I normally eat butter, like bread and potatoes, are verbotten anyway.) But I like the flavor of turkey bacon almost as much as the real deal, and actually prefer its texture.

Hmm. I think I nearly blew my diet tonight though - I thought "egg rolls made from egg noodles, no problem!" but it seems I used up most of my carb allowance for today between that and the mushrooms in my soup. Just as well that I forgot to take an orange to work today.
