I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Her girlfriend is Cherry Jones? That's awesome, just because Cherry Jones is so awesome.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I just grabbed a file holder so as not to have a pile of folders, but I think I actually like the pile better. Eh.

It's very large. But it pretty much holds everything I used to need to have on my desk, so I'm better off.

In the book Getting Things Done, one of the things David Allen points out that I think is true is that organization will happen if it is as easy as possible-- get a label maker so you can read the labels, make as many files as you like (including files that have only one piece of paper, as long as you know where to get that paper you're better off), and only fill your filing cabinet 3/4 full so that it is not bulging (a command I need to get on top of right now). So you should do whatever makes filing easiest, where it doesn't seem like a chore to file and find paper.

Yeah, I'm one of those straight folks that don't get it, I have to admit.

While I am all "Right on!" that Lance Bass is getting him some man-lovin' these days, I don't actually think it's any of my business.

Swouncing

In some more whiny unrelated to ongoing conversations meMeME posting, I'm trying to combine references to a bibliography from (counts on fingers) 6 differrent files. Some of them, despite my repeared requests, are written in a completely different format, so I have to go back to the original text and edit that, as well.

I think I need one of those "what's the strangest ice cream you've ever had?" or "which tv characters do you want to go on a blind date with?" or "what's your favorite book to cuddle up with and re-read?" questions, only, well, fun. And having nothing to do with any sort of "will I get to have some sleep tonight?".

Oh, and apparently one of the people collaborating with us on this grant has an algorithm they call FCM. I have to keep being careful not to write it as CFM.

Punishingly Intricate

why Sarah Paulson looks so familiar--her IMDB listing isn't ringing any bells.

It's not that she was in Serenity? (Of course when I saw her in that I was all, "It's Miss Isringhausen!!!" from deadwood)

eta HI NILLY!

So. Here I am at the library, calmly trying to not rip the throat out of someone. But alas.

The rare books department, even though they sent email saying come at this time and I confirmed it, do not know I'm supposed to be here. And in fact, did not pull the books I need for my research. Should I be filled with rage, or should I breathe and acknowledge that I'm 5 minutes early.

And if it doesn't work, how will I actually react? I have a headache from hell and am not loving life right now. I want access to the fucking books bitch. That's how I'm feeling.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

This is when you poke your belly out as far as you can and start rubbing your back.

Nah. I have a feeling that will not get me what I want. What I want are access to damn books! The librarians are not as helpful as one would hope.

Seriously. WTF?

Now tagless for your comfort.

This is when you poke your belly out as far as you can and start rubbing your back.

This worked for me when I wanted to return a cell phone past the last return date! Nobody says no to a pregnant woman, I swear!

Kat, I hope you get to the books without having to resort to violence. But if the violence makes you feel better--you've got a good excuse.

I am loving Target's portrait studio's online access right now.
