The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

(normally I'd put this in Boxed set, but I don't want to get spoiled for tonight's ep.)

I emailed the itunes store to see when Episode 9 of SPN would be available, since 8 and 10 were already online, but 9 was no where to be seen.

Two days later, they told me they would look into it and not to try to download it AGAIN in the meantime.

What is wrong with these people?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ten of them got together, pooled their money, set up a corporation, and bought the building. The building has about 30 apartments. So for the next 30 years of so, the owners of this corporation stayed there, each paying about $200 a month in rent, while the rest of the apartments were rented out normally, with all the rent money going to the corporation.

Weird! It's like a semi-co-op, only kinda not.

I have a cd not in the database! Or course, what little liner notes I have don't include titles. I think the actual case was stolen in 97. Mrph.

eta: it IS in the db. I guess I searched wrong. Still surprised, as it was a college band of a couple friends.

I've also discovered the cds I didn't replace because I couldn't get them at the used store: 1/2 Smashing Pumpkins, an Ethridge, Paula Cole (where have all the cowboys gone?!) and Natalie Merchant. Hrm. Of course, now I want them again.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah. A few years ago, the surviving owners and the next of kin of the ones who'd died decided to sell the building, then dissolve the corporation and split the profits. (Basically, the "how do the next of kin get money?" issue was becoming much more of an issue, and quite a few of the surviving owners are either very old or crazy, and everyone decided that just getting the money and not having to go to board meetings anymore would be the best for everyone.) The lawyer who handled the sale was going crazy trying to figure out what all the legal implications of that structure were. (The original contract forming the corporation was done in a weird way, for reasons no one could remember anymore, and that made things way more complicated.)

You know what's freaky? Googling for a college band and finding a supposed co-collegiate who moved to your hometown (or, 6 miles away) post-college and you have no idea who she is. And it was a class of 350 or so. I should know her. My college was like that.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I mean, let us ignore the fact for the moment that Illyria (the laptop) has a copy that's currently paused. Want pre-formatted for iPod version, drat it!
