Okay, it is friggin' Arctic in LA today, and the incredibly high winds keep threatening to peel either the roof or the front face off of our building. It's freaking me out.

Immersion blender. I just got one for christmas and they are perfectly suited for this kind of activity.

That would work, too! And probably would require less storage space.

And... what's evil about a garlic press?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I've heard the garlic press is evil, and I generally don't use it, but I wouldn't mind being proven wrong...I understand it wrings the juice out of the garlic bits.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Nothing's looser than a metrosexual, that's for sure. Downtown Liverpool sophisticates on the prowl.

Is this a quote I'm missing, or should I be offended? Hee!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The theories I've heard is that it breaks down the garlic too much. But ATK love them for mincing garlic in a uniform fashion. I haven't been able to get over my garlic press suspicion enough to actually acquire and use one (as previously mentioned, it takes a while for us to do stuff like that), but I am intrigued. Because chopping garlic, though I do it almost every day, gets to be a pain in the ass, man.

hip deep in pie

I think a good garlic press is great, but there are lots of shitty ones out there. Like the one I have that leave half the clove unpressed. I only use it when I'm lazy.

Oh, no, wait - I just noticed I've been saying looser rather than loser.

Hey: D'oh!

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

We use something like this to chop garlic if we don't feel like doing it by hand. It's a lot more convenient than a full-size food processor, with the two of us.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You probably have more of a freelance type job with them? No?

Works for me--I know not of the definitions. But I do earn an irregular amount from them each week.

The winds here are annoying. They knocked out power at the only store I know of nearby that sells Alpen, so I had to try a different store and three different types of cereal, none of which taste remotely right. Still howling out there.
