Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We have snow for the first time in a month. We also had freezing rain. Now both front doors of my car are frozen shut. D'oh!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Wow, according to the internets, it's only a little warmer in the Bay Area than it is here in Boulder. Huh.

Punishingly Intricate

hmmph not snowing here either

I was just thinking about you because last night I was asking the waitress at the local bar how they book new bands. It seems basically they listen to a CD and decide.

cool! If you want to email me the name of the place I can send them a presskit & cd. Our guitarist is moving to NY this summer and we're trying to get out and play more before he leaves. In other band news...we are now cartoons!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I didn't realize trout was an oily fish.

Salmon and trout are the same beastie, just that at some point in time a trout decided to explore deeper waters and stayed out there. We now call them salmon. Salmon still have to come back to fresh water to breed, though.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I had to interrupt this conversation, so that I could go get a bowl of ramen to eat in front of the computer. With butter and freshy grated cheese. For breakfast. Which is late. While the tivo is exercising without me. Because I am having the conversation, but not listening to it at. all.

It's not snowing here yet, but it's clearly about to, and looks to continue all weekend and part of next week. I need to go haul another load of firewood to the porch. But the SO made me a fire this morning, yay, SO. It is nice and cozy in here now. The Biscuit started dozing on the loveseat in front of the hearth. He's not allowed. But cute!

I can't believe we have snow over here and you don't--it's so often the reverse.

Well, it's been a season for the backwards, that's for sure...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Gah. I got woken up this morning by an instructor calling me to come in and train with an out of town group.

I kind of don't want to, at least today. But I can't help but feel I should take advantage of not having a migraine.

Still, breakfast is yet to be sufficiently digested for exercise, plus job hunt followups need to happen.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I declare this to be Dietary Snow Day!

I've got a job interview this afternoon. I've never felt so ambivalent about a job interview in my life. I am hoping the interview itself clarifies things. But I'm definitely going into it with more of a sell-the-job-to-me attitude, rather than a sell-myself-to-the-job.

We'll see if playing hard to get works.

In other news, my sister and my Dad are both coming out for Matilda's baptism on Saturday. I haven't seen my sister in about six years so that'll be fun for her to get reacquainted with Emmett, meet the baby and meet JZ. Also it'll be good for my Dad to get some snuzzling time with Matilda since he's legally blind now (very blurry vision) and can't really see the pictures we send.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Wow, according to the internets, it's only a little warmer in the Bay Area than it is here in Boulder. Huh.

I'm totally tired of scraping ice off my windshield in the morning. This is California! Come on!
