I can handle the Oz Full Monty. I mean, not 'handle' handle.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Science of Discworld authors label that kind of math teaching "lies for children", because you have to dumb knowledge down into more-easily digested chunks until the facts as presented are pretty inaccurate. If you are smart, you leave enough wiggle room that when you come back to it later, you can expand on what you said in previous grades without too much backtracking.

Because books.

24: For someone who didn't watch last season, can anyone tell me if Chloe's boyfriend is on the up and up? Because he's coming across as a total user bad guy to me.

ION, Keifer's voice! I have missed it.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

For those who are curious, the Pats pulled it out in the last few minutes.

Drat.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So we're going to the dome. But then, we have to play the Pats.

AmyLiz, re: 24, if memory serves, he's not a bad guy. You know, yet, or whatever. You know how it goes. He was her ex, and I guess he's no longer an ex, and she called him in to help with something last year. Looks like he stuck .

Because books.

Thanks, JenP! It was the "You're a hottie" remark that rang false.

Who knows if I'll make it through this season, but the promos definitely sucked me in at least for the premiere.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

If you are smart, you leave enough wiggle room that when you come back to it later, you can expand on what you said in previous grades without too much backtracking.

This is what I'm saying! You don't have to say, "negative numbers have square roots called imaginary numbers which work like this but never mind that now," but you also don't have to say, "negative numbers have absolutely no square roots no way never nohow and anybody who tells you different is lying!" so that three years later their Algebra II teacher can say, "Well, actually..." This is the kind of thing that results in my asking them to do 2 divided by 8 and their coming up with 4!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have no tookies, and I don't watch 24, but I do have a mini lemon cake for later.

Yum.

brillig

I am officially boggled.

Billy Idol has a Christmas album!

[link]

It's an import-only from Germany. Is this the kiss of death for a career? A cosmic joke? A "hey, I got paid for it, and it was in Europe, back off"?

Can I bring myself to drop $30+ for it?
