Chopin for sipping (okay, most of the superpremiums are good and the differences are minute but for that price, I can be picky) over ice, Smirnoff (the red for me, not the blue. the blue is higher proof and that was a bad mistake to make.) is actually quite nice for anything mixy or when I am dirtying martinis.

My flight attendant aunt brought my dad back something from Japan that was fucking heaven to drink but he wouldn't tell me the name. Something about how I would just cry when I tried to look for it and found out how much it costs.

I'm out of vodka. This is tragic. I am still bitter that I can't buy liquor at Trader Joe's in this state. I am tempted to buy liquor (even paying *gasp* sales tax) in California and check my bags back. Course that requires going back to Cali, which is as yet unplanned. So I am tragically out of vodka.

I really want to try the Chopin now. I will have to see where around me sells it.

Does anyone here know anything about air-purifying fluorescent bulbs? They sound kind of hoaxy to me, and they're about 8 times more expensive than the regular compact fluorescents, but OTOH, if they work, mine would be exactly the household that could use them.

I just checked my freezer stores, and it turns out I have Stoli and Chopin. Chopin is no doubt because of a Buffista recommendation. I'm very much not knowledgeable about vodka. I just know that the Gray Goose gimlet I had was terribly smooth.

Hmm. I should have asked the brands of alcohol used in my last two gimlet taste tests. Shame on me.

Although I have no experience with them, I doubt that they will work any better than other air ionizers, Jess.

Jessica, I've read some reports indicating that the ionizers aren't worth it.

Stems bacterial growth and forces precipitation of many airborne contaminants, including pollen, dust and dust mites, viruses, second-hand cigarette smoke, animal dander, odors, and toxic chemical fumes.

The "precipitation" means that the bad stuff will stick to the walls/floor/etc. instead of floating in the air. Not so much with the filtering.
