The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

YAY for your own bed.

I went to BevMo on the way home, thinking that they would have the Chopin, but they didn't, but Grey Goose was on sale, so I bought that, and some Rose's, and some Barenjager.

I managed to forego any of the coffee liqueuers though, so that's good, right?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Voda is water in Russian, too, and the suffix -ka is an affectionate diminutive (f'rinstance, Mishka = "sweet little Misha")

I thought that was Mishinka, but that could be because Mishinka was the diminutive of the diminutive (Misha being one for Mikael) that my Slavic Studies (and, okay, two miserable quarters of Russian) prof used for her toddler, and used as the example when explaining the Russian diminutives to the class.

But, that was 12/13 years ago, and there were a hell of a lot of diminutives in that tongue.

I still have the bottle of Stoli that was given to me when I left my library job in November 1992, unopened and in the box. Would it still be any good?

Don't forget to send Hec any photos of your cat with the Boogie Mat!

Here ya go, Hec!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In short, Russian diminutives are confusing.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It should be fine, Kathy.

Holy Stoli! I'm guessing it would be still good, as long as it hasn't been subjected to hot temperatures or direct sunlight. Since vodka has already been distilled and aged, it won't deteriorate with time the way beer and some wines can.

And -- good LORD, people! You're making me crave -- actually *crave* -- a shot of tequila. A nice Cabo Wabo or Patron Silver.

I have none, of course, and I'm not going back out in the rain when I just came in. But now I'm all resentful that I have no tequila.
