Macbook Bluetooth warning:
Buffistechnology 3: "Press Some Buttons, See What Happens."
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I just checked both of my mac laptops and that bluetooth setting was off by default, not on. I think the article is suspect.
Same here, ND, on a fresh install.
Good to know.
In retrospect, one would probably have heard of it before now.
I am brain-dead today.
I have a pair of radio buttons on a web page. How do I make them invisible?
Normally we create hidden fields with an <input type="hidden"> tag, except if I do this instead of <input type="radio"> then they are no longer radio buttons, and I'd have to change a bunch of code that refers to them. I suppose I could use javascript to hide them, but I want them always invisible (I don't want to wait for the onload event to fire).
My html knowledge has many holes in it, like a moth-eaten sweater....
How do I make them invisible?
CSS? display:none;
Thanks, I'll give that a try....
eta: Ooh, that was easy!
Like so many things, it's easy when you know how.
I'm possibly looking for a docking station to use with my laptop, since one of our desktops have died. Toshiba apparently doesn't make one, which seems odd to me. I want something that will connect to an external monitor, not just function as a USB hub.
Anyone have any experience with this?
The forces of stupidity have triumphed.
I had a meeting to discuss our web site and the 20-something who's had all kinds of wonderful ideas (like making some information only available if you're willing to wait for 30 photos to download and prefers to have multiple layers of organization - requiring more and more clicks to find some information - and putting lots and lots of high-res images without a single ALT tag) prevailed. sigh.
When I asked about making the site accessible to people using a hand-held or who didn't have a broadband connection, I was told "these guys travel with laptops more powerful than any of our desktops" so it wasn't necessary.
Oh ... and they want our organization - a trade association, basically - on Twitter.
