Hey, Facebook folks. I seem to remember reading about some option where you could choose what kind of updates that you saw in your status. I love my friends, but I don't really care what president they are. Is there anyway to limit updates to just status, not quizzes and random crap?

Vortex, yes. If it's just certain applications that you don't want to see, when someone posts one, hover the mouse over the box of their post, in the upper right hand corner. You'll see an x. You are usually given the option of hiding everything from that user, or just hiding that particular application. Note that not all quizzes are applications, so it might not work for all.

From what I've been hearing, you need to go through Vista to do an upgrade? -- that is, a "hey, hit this button and we'll manage everything for you". It's not the case that you can't install Win7 without buying Vista first; people who want to back up and do a clean install can do so, but they just won't make it as easy for you to skip over Vista altogether.
