So it turns out I'm a bit cheap. MacAir is purty but seems like less machine than the pro or the reg MacBook.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

Thanks everyone. I have successfully transferred the file to a jump drive for the trip home.
Much obliged!
Okay, I'm trying to wangle a new computer out of my boss. I'd like to get a laptop with a docking station, something good for traveling or working at home. Drew, before you even say it, I can't have a Mac because the university helpdesk won't support them, and the one competent guy in our department doesn't know Macs.
Suggestions?
I'm not the one that defaults to Mac, I do use and like them, but I also use and like quite a few PC's.
For laptops I'm partial to Lenovo and Toshiba.
I need suggestions for a good PDF -reading app for the iPhone. Suggestions?
I love my Toshiba.
Jilli, I'm pretty sure the iPhone can read PDFs natively. (I know I've clicked on PDF links in Safari and been able to read them w/o installing anything extra.)
I am getting a new computer today at work. What should I do, other than clearing history and cache, to clear off this one?
I would save your bookmarks folder somewhere and email it to yourself, so you don't have to rebuild your bookmarks, then delete it.
Thank you.
