Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Now tagless for your comfort.

If one wanted to download a video from YouTube to use in a PowerPoint presentation, how would one go about doing it?

I tried that but got a very strange result--just a loud blip and a streak of light.

However, turns out I had downloaded a program called Any Video Converter to get some clips off of my motorola Q and I could use that to pull stuff off of YouTube and convert it to an mpeg or wmv.

Then I just insert the file into the PP presentation.

So I guess I should have pressed some buttons and then saw what happened.

All is well that ends in pizza.

There is a Firefox add-on that i added that lets me "override all compatibility" on extensions not officiallly updated for the current version of firefox.

"Nightly tester tools"

it can't fix them all, but I've had a lot of success.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Thanks LeN, I'll have a look at Tabkit.

I turned off a few things in Tab Mix Plus and it's much less annoying now.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Is there another (current) extension that will do this? Remembering to Ctl-T every time I want a new tab is a PITA.

word. i actually just switched to Firefox and that's one thing that's driving me nuts.

I have the YouPlayer extension in Firefox installed and it does that, Cash. i haven't actually used it yet, but it seems simple enough. [link]

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Another computer question for the experts here--now that I've got my new laptop and have put all my files/pictures onto a disc for transfer, should I just reformat the hard drive on the old desktop before recycling/sending it to Goodwill?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

You should do more than reformat.
