If your TV has a VGA input, then it's easy. If not, then you need something like this, or this.

My TV has RCA/S-video. Would one of those cables take care of sound as well?
For audio, you'll need this.
S-Video does not handle sound. On the other hand, we plug the laptop into the TV with S-Video and just turn up the laptop volume.
Thank you!
My little teeny laptop has little teeny speakers, and I have to wear headphone to hear when I am laying right next to it! It makes me laugh.
Our 5 year old Canon G3 camera has died (screen to see what you're taking a picture of is dead; it does take pictures still) and we've been quoted $180 to even open it up and look at it. Anybody want it, or know a place that recycles/refurbishes digital cameras?
For that matter, does does one do with a basic point and shoot 35 mm film camera? We have 2 that work fine and I hate to put them in the trash... ah, the obsolescence of technology.
Laptop-shopping question for y'all: Does this look like a good deal on a decent laptop?
that's a great deal, Kathy. after my trouble with HP, i wouldn't get it. i'm sure others have had perfectly good relationships with customer service and the product itself though.
I've been weeding out brands after hearing various horror stories, so HP is just about the only one left that I hadn't heard anything bad about! (Sony produces horrible laptops that are constantly crapping out, Dells are being returned to the store at a rapid clip, Acers are cheap POS, etc.) What happened with you, tiggy?
short story? my first problem was the laptop "losing" the wireless card. i had to end up shipping the laptop in and they fixed it in record time. that time. the next couple of times i had to send it in because my screen was going completely black for no reason. then again it "lost" the wireless card.
total times shipped back to them for the same problems? 5. how long had i had it? less than a year. i ended up selling it to a co-worker and buying a toshiba, which i LOVE.
