The splitter should work, the only drawback is that it will drop the output voltage slightly so you won't getting a true +4dB output with them connected. In most applications that shouldn't be a problem.

Has anyone here assembled electronic kits? What with the soldering and whatnot?
I am building this: Pocket Piano Arduino Shield -- Electronic Musical Instrument Kit. Currently I'm soldering capacitors to the circuit board. I got four .1uF capacitors. On the circuit board, two of the places for these capacitors have a white box (with two vertical lines between the holes) printed surrounding the holes where the capacitors go. Two other places don't have the box with the lines (they just notate that the .1uF capacitors go there). Do the boxes with lines mean anything?
(There are two other capacitors, .01uF and 1uF. These also have the boxes printed around their holes.)
