My job requires me to edit web pages in Dreamweaver. I do not have Dreamweaver on my computer. The computer that does have Dreamweaver is upstairs in another office. I am kinda lazy.
Is there any sort of web-based thing that I can use to edit web pages (simple html only, I don't need to do any messing with style sheets), like, the Google Docs of web pages?
Signed, I know I said I hated the CMS but people, this is so much worse. I have to save html documents to a temp drive and then EMAIL the web editor, who moves them to the real drive and makes them live. One pixel at a time, apparently.
Huh. Maybe. Both machines are Windows XP on a Novell client server (I think), so I could maybe just remote desktop?
I could maybe just remote desktop?
If it's running on the system upstairs, sure.
What's Asus like? My sister's looking to not spend much on a laptop, and they're just above emachine at Best Buy.
I need Word 2007 help. I am attempting to create an outlined list-- what is now called multilevel list, apparently. When I press enter, instead of giving me the next entry in the list, it reverts the style back to normal. Why is it doing this? I've made hundreds of outlines in prior versions of Word, so it's not something easy. This is really starting to piss me off, honestly, since it must be some kind of "feature."
ita, the biggest complaint I've heard about Asus netbooks is that the keyboard is painfully cramped. Which probably varies depending on how big the users hands are.
bon, my iteration of Word 2007 automatically creates lists whether I want it to or not. Is the list icon highlighted in the top bar while you're typing?
Why is it doing this?
Well I don't know about 2007, but in previous versions it is very easy to get the list sprm records mixed up in the binary format of Word documents. I had to fix a lot of list bugs the Word viewer for Quick View Plus back in the day, and let me tell you sorting out the sprms for a multilevel list is not trivial. There is an story behind those bug fixes, but that would take a while.
One this you can try if it is an actual bug you are running into, is to save out the document using 'Save As...' instead of 'Save' and reloading it. With the old binary file that would make Word order all of the document records in sequence and that could fix problems that were caused by actual bugs in Word. With Word 2007, this trick may no longer be relevant, I don't know.
If it isn't an actual bug, but some hoops the UI is throwing you, I have no idea, I don't use Word very much.
