Yeah, but it's like Vista. That's what they put on new computers these days.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

I have seen undergraduates mystified by Word 2007 - they can't find the "Save" command. I would not recommend it for parents if it can be avoided.
I am pretty computer savvy, I even like learning new programs ( I like the challenge) and Word 2007 is shit. It makes no sense. It is actually an advantage to not have ever used Word before, because it's so fucked up that it has no connection to Word 2003. I am waiting for them to come out with the patch that allows you to use Word 2003 commands and menus. I spent 10 minutes trying to find the "save as" command. I found it by accident.
Keep in mind that my mother had pretty much no problem with Vista.

Indeed.
But these days I stay with NotePad.

A thing of beauty and a joy forever.
I'll never forget the day I was trying to do my usual grad-school paper style of:
1) title page
2) page with quote or picture
3) start of paper text (with no number)
4) second page (numbering starts with 2)
In Word.
I was on with the help line at Microsoft for almost an hour before I (emphasis on I) finally figured out how to do it.
No love for Word Star?
