And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I know Dell will still give you the option to downgrade to XP - I imagine most of the other big names are too, at least for now.

Hivemind, I'm using Google maps. I don't want directions, i just want to plot multiple points on the map. Can I do that without the annoying purple lines?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Yeah -- create a new map, right click on it and select "Add a placemark".

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

i just want to plot multiple points on the map.

Lemme guess - you're marking the places where you've buried your retirement money?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

So, like a lot of people, apparently, Bloglines' flakiness is getting so bad that I'm switching to Google Reader. Is there any way to set the reader pane to show my new posts by feed, rather than by date?

Bon bon, I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

ION, I have a question - ages ago, I downloaded JoinTogether on the suggestion of this thread to turn some 1-mp3-per-chapter audiobooks I have into single files. Even after downloading the upgrade, it's still hanging when I try to run it. (Pre-upgrade, it would hang on chapter 8/46, now it's hanging on chapter 32. So yes, an improvement, but still not actually working.)

Is there another piece of software out there that does this? I'm on a G5 running Tiger.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm having trouble with my wireless router. I've tried to get an internet connection to work and it's just not working. I've checked my modem and it's working fine. I've tried the diagnostics on the laptop and ran the set up disc for the router. I can only get "local only" connections on BOTH laptops, so I know it's not the laptop, either.

I just bought this Linksys two months ago and I hate the thought of replacing it so soon.

Any advice? Is there something I'm not doing?

All is well that ends in pizza.

"Hard reset."

On the back of the linksys there is a reset button only accessible with a paper clip or really thin wire.

Take a paper clip and press in on the recessed switch for 20 seconds.

Then set it up from scratch.

There's probably not a way. In Bloglines, if I choose to read all my updated feeds at once, new posts are arranged by feed. So in the reading pane it shows me, for example, the new posts on Defamer, then all the new posts from Gawker, then all the new posts from NYT. It looks like Google Reader doesn't sort them by feed and then date, it sorts new posts by date. So I'm looking at a New York Times post then two Gawker posts then another NYT post. The snark code-switching makes me dizzy!
