AFAIK, Open Office isn't compatible with Office 2007.

I understand the Asus screen does not suck quite as much as the old one.
Yeah, I was waiting for the new Asus, because of the suckiness of the screen on the original one.
How is the Aspire screen?
The resolution is 1024 x 600. It looks nice. I haven't used it yet for anything graphics-intensive like games, but it plays YouTube videos just fine.
The Aspire One weighs a little over two pounds. The keyboard is 90% the size of a regular one, so I'm getting used to it. The Linux version has an 8GB SSD drive. One thing I like is you can add an additional drive in the form of an SD card, and the OS will treat the built-in drive and the SSD card as one big drive....

When I open it in TextEdit all I see is gibberish.
[eta: And OpenOffice claims to have a version of Aqua that runs on PPC Macs, but the link to download is broken. I'm giving up for today, I think.]

I've got an MSI Wind, which has pretty much the same specs as all the other subnotebooks, except that it has a 80GB hard drive instead of an SSD. (It's also a little more expensive).
