SUCCESS!!

I had my work laptop at home. So I plugged it in. Immediately it said there was a firmware update for the lil guy. Strange that I didn't get the notice last night, but whatever. Did the update. It took two tries, but it finally got an IP addy, and I'm connected! Perseverance pays off I guess.

oh god, only 9%!! And it's been how long? That's a progress bar you can't even watch, it's so slow.

Oh, btw, I found manuals and paperwork on those two cameras. Do you want? Or shall the recycle monster munch on it?

10% now. Two days.

I'm hoping for one of those Windows-style suddenly speeds to the end of the percentage things.

As for the camera manuals, maybe I could find the manuals online. Anything special about the paperwork?

not really, except the fact that a) I found them, and b) they survived the move, and c) I found them again AFTER the move. That, in and of itself, is special! Aside from that, the cameras are pretty basic. Nothing you couldn't figure out, I'm sure. Didn't know if you were the type that liked everything or not. Either way, let me know. Happy to post them. Otherwise, to the paper recycle they go.

The status is NOT quo.

I know I've become a Mac snob, but man oh man does having to use Windows make me miss Leopard. (And why am I using Windows, you may ask? Because I am addicted to Dr. Who and just realized I can watch it instantly via Netflix...but only on a Windows-based PC. Curses!)

Oh, speaking of mac and windows. There is an app at work that seems to require Win98. Can I install that on the mac, and make a triple boot machine? Is that with Parallels only? Since I found the OS install disks with code, and the old computer bit the big byte in the sky, seems only fair to do it. Just not sure if possible. I know I can do XP or Vista, which I also will be doing (XP).

Our wings are not tired

I'm pretty sure you'll have a hard time getting windows 98 to run on modern hardware of any sort.

Looks like there is a way to do it with Parallels 3.0, but it looks pretty involved. Here's a site that walks you through it.
