Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Theo, you have to purchase the iPod Touch 2.0 firmware in order to install and run apps.

It's a free upgrade for iPhone owners, but Touch owners need to pay for the upgrade. It costs ten bucks.

Details are here: [link]

Trust my rage

So, I just finished downloading the new Apple update for my iPhone and now my phone is not working. It's back to "Emergency Call Only" status and iTunes isn't recognizing anything on it. I keep getting an iTunes Store error even though I can access the store.

I'm off to see if the Internet has any tips for me but I thought I'd just share my experience as a warning. (Although I see others have not had the same problem. So it could be just me.)

Thanks Tom! Unfortunately, when the download link opens iTunes, it tells me that the iTunes Store is unavailable (I have in fact got it open at the moment, but whatever.)

WHY THE HELL can't you buy the upgrade directly from the iTunes store instead of going through a damn link?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've been hearing reports of issues with the software upgrade and with phone activation all over the place. You'd think they'd have prepared for the volume of response, but apparently not!

It looks like the iTunes store is kind of overloaded this morning.

Okay, how do I get the free iPhone 2.0 upgrade for my iPhone?

I keep clicking the Update button in iTunes and it says I have the latest version of the software.

Now when I click the update button when my iTouch is connected, it tells me that an update is available (yay!) but I still can't connect to the store. SIGH

There was a line at the AT&T store next to school this morning, and it was still going when I got out of class.

I too finally convinced iTunes to find and download the 2.0 firmware upgrade.

(I got through to the store and am downloading now. Sorry Theo.)

Watch out, the force of my jealously might just make your iTouch explode.

Our wings are not tired

I'm trying to update my iPhone and iTunes keeps saying the 1.1.4 is the current version. Argh!
