'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've been very happy with my Virgin Mobile experience. I just really wish they'd get some kind of iPhone-wannabee phone so I could switch.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Um make sure you get a clamshell or other types that close, cause permanently open ones tend to spontaneously dial and cost you expensive minuts.

Mine's a clamshell but has keys on the outside too. I keep the keys on the outside locked to prevent spontaneous dialing.

Oh, mine has web access too. $1 per day or $5 per month. There's some sort of data limit, but I never get near it, as the browser is kinda' sucky on such a tiny screen, and it's pretty slow too. (b.org is doable, though.)

Oh, you can get the iPhone with a pay-as-you-go plan if your credit isn't good enough for a regular plan. But I hear the cost per thingie of data is very high.....

If I had a well-paying job, I'd for sure finally cave next month when the new iPhones are out. Poverty will keep me virtuous, at least for the forseeable future.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Unless Virgin has changed policies within the last 60 days, it is buy at least $20 worth of minutes at least every 90 days to keep service.

It's $15 every 90 days if you sign up for them to charge you automatically. At least, that's what I've had for the last year or so.

Always Anti-fascist!

Is it ever a good idea for me to try and reinstall my own system? Cause my computer still isn't quite all right since I had the virus removed, but I'm not sure I can ever pay for three hours of tech time.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

re: pay-as-you-go cell phones. We siblings got one for Mom. I got her Cingular (well, now AT&T) since I have it, and it's free calls between us. If you purchase $100 worth, it holds the number for a year. I think everything lower than that is 3 months.

All is well that ends in pizza.

You can do a repair install, but it's a matter of "be careful" and read this: [link]

If you aren't comfortable, do more research before you do it.

ETA: and you will have to download Service pack 2 if you do not have it on your install disks.

Read the fine print, if you have an OEM restore disk, make sure it does not wipe the HDD completely, especially if you do not have an adequate back up.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I have T-Mobile pay-as-you-go and I'm much happier with it than I was with AT&T. I don't know if it's still like this but when I got my phone, after I'd spent $100 on minutes my minutes stopped expiring.
