Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think it does that in case you have stuff you bought from the iTunes store... and that's all it copies over.

It's possible I'm thinking of something else....

Um, I'm pretty sure that I've been asked some version of "There's stuff on your iPod that's not on your computer, do want to update the computer?"

oh, fine, scare me then! I think I should just make sure that "manual sync" is checked, I should be fine.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yes -- only purchased music, and only after you've authorized the new computer. But it's an addition, not a wiping of the library.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I think it's because I don't sync all that often, and I delete the podcasts I've listened to already before I resync (since I can't stand having to scroll down more than necessary on the iPod).

not your mom's socks.

oh wise ones.

My sister and I are trying to video chat. She is not in the US. And seems to have trouble downloading the AIM client.

I have iChat, so we need it I think to make our computers all chatty.

anyone have any ideas? Does a 30 second download and "thank you" indicate that maybe she has AIM preloaded somewhere and can't find it?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There is also Skype. That's what I (OS X) use to talk to my sister (Win 98).

Thanks ita - this is absolutely option #2 - which I have but she doesn't... but it seems she's gotten AIM, finally, so I'm hoping... fingers crossed.

Having tried AIM I like Skype better, FWIW.

ita, how is your Apple TV working out? When you want to watch something you've downloaded, do you transcode it, or have you hacked the Apple TV and put other codecs on it?
