Well, I was making some adjustments to the systray, and it froze (pointer froze and the system stopped taking input from the keyboard or mousepad). I had to shut it down with the power button. I restarted in Leopard, booted up a couple of programs, quit out of them, and powered down again.

Then I attempted to restart into Windows, got the cylon screen, got the typical neutral sky blue before the XP screen with an hourglass in the center, and it never progressed any further. I had to shut it down with the power button again.

Our wings are not tired

Have you tried starting up in safe mode?

After I last posted, I tried one more time booting up into XP and it worked. I've been playing Civ 4 for the last few hours.

I'll just be looking askance at XP for a while. I've said it before -- running Leopard and XP side by side does not do XP any favors.

by chance, anyone have the files for Boot Camp Beta for OS-X 10.4? I can't seem to find mine, and of course the dmg's were lost when my HD crashed & burned.

That's because your computer doesn't know which of the Voices in its head to listen to.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Omnis, try searching for BootCamp1.4.dmg maybe one of the torrent places (or, god forbid, a traditional site) has an active copy for download.

Mostly lurking...

Ok. Anyone tried embeding a flickr video in a WordPress blog? I'm trying to help my brother get it figured out, and I'm about to pull my hair out. We finally figured out the right code and stuff for the upgraded WordPress, but it's saying his video is private, so no one can view it. Only, it's not private. It's public. Any ideas?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Sean,

I had to reinstall Parallels about 2-3 times because they never took. After the 3rd time, everything has been working really well.

Just an FYI in case you need to reinstall something.

Thanks, le nub. I may consider reinstalling (though that was a pin in the ass). So far it seems to be back up and running (though it has again frozen during startup once or twice, including once on the cylon screen).

Does anyone have any suggestions for a free Windows XML editor?

if i upload the file that i'm wanting to cut down, would someone who is obviously smarter than me be able to cut it down to the specific section i want? Audacity just isn't cooperating with me.
