question regarding airport express/extreme ...
in my home I have the cable modem in one room (upstairs) and a printer I'd like to network downstairs. Clearly they are not attached to the same computer.
Should I get an airport extreme for the room upstairs to initiate the wireless and then get an airport express for the downstairs office that has the printer?
Oops double post. My full answer is down a ways..
You'll need some kind of wireless router connected to the modem, but it doesn't have to be an Airport. I have a Linksys router and an Airport Express functioning as a print server and they talk to each other just fine.
Should I get an airport extreme for the room upstairs to initiate the wireless and then get an airport express for the downstairs office that has the printer?
That's what I'd do. Assuming you can't move the cable modem to the same room as the printer and plug both into an Extreme.
excellent. thank you both. I appreciate the responses.
OK, here's a really minor issue. I'm used to the websites I've been to recently still being in the drop-down bar when I restart IE. And yet? NSM here with the new computer. The setting seem like they should be there. Any ideas?
I just upgraded my MacBook from 2Gb memory to 4Gb. POW!
The ability to edit my personal RSS feed on here was so exciting and spoiling (I read SO much better on a light grey background than a white one) that I installed Stylish on my Firefox. Now I'm catching myself writing custom sheets for a lot of pages I use regularly. Nice!
The TWOP recaps are MUCH more readable on a gray background with a better font. Which is good, since last week's GG recap is 36 pages long.
This feels like a really dumb question, but I want to download Firefox, and I can't figure out how to do it from the website. The link from the main Mozilla page sent me here [link] , and don't see a "download" link for just regular Firefox 2 anywhere on that page.
