Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm kinda jealous of you AT&T iPhone people right now, but I still burn with anger at the crap customer service I got from them. So it's all good.

Gud, Blaise is still in the MSHOME workgroup. I guess since stuff works and all I'll leave it be, but it does rankle.

Coding and Sleeping

I'm stumped, I tried to replicate the problem on one of my computers but it kept switching workgroups just fine.

You might try Ubuntu Forums there are a lot of people there who know a lot more than I do about samba.

If you have a Mac in the workgroup working well, you might check out the Mac's smb.conf file. I'm pretty sure Macs must have one.

Hopefully I get my Mac back today so I'll give it a shot. Thanks for all your help.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Okay, this is not quite the right thread for this, but I guess it fits here for some odd, sideways reason --

I just got some nice, new, tall bookcases for my home office. I really want to earthquake strap them to the wall. I have searched at the home depot web site and keep getting no returns on my searches (on various combinations of the words bookcase, earthquake, proof and strap).

I have this problem all the time on the home depot site, where their search engine is not particularly bright, and if you don't search on exactly the right key words, you won't find what you're looking for.

I'm sure Home Depot has what I'm looking for, but I can't find it on the site. Can anybody help?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Not sure if they're the same strength, but you can buy straps to attach bookcases to walls in the Baby Safety section of Target.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I find stuff at Home Depot by going to Home Depot, grabbing the first orange vest I find and saying "I need THIS. Take me to it."

That usually works.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

2nds MM's method. Just as I learn where stuff is there, they move it on me. And their website is hit/miss.

Our wings are not tired

Chances are you can get the Earthquake Straps at Ikea. They include them with every piece they sell.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Home Depot's website is a piece of useless crap. As people have said, you need to go to the store and ask.

Ann, that's a ferret.

...if you can find someone to help you at Home Depot.
