The 17" is big and heavy. It's not doable for me over the shoulder, and I get plenty of upper body and core workout from my job.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I kinda wish there was some extra benefit to more powerful video cards than just 3D game performance to help justify the Nvidia 8800GT in my home computer, but not really. I think it has a hardware MPEG decoder and some other nifty video features, but so do the bottom end Nvidia cards. I think pretty much all current ATI cards (which Macs use) have similar video features regardless of where they stand in the lineup.
I sure hope AMD doesn't go belly up. That's going to leave pretty much one vendor for CPUs and one vendor for anything but the most basic video GPUs.
My gmail, which never quite works right at the office anyway (I often have to hit refresh or use non-html view), has recently begun giving me this message:
"Your browser's cache is full and may interfere with your Gmail experience."
The odd thing is, I delete everything pretty regularly. And I now have the Temporary Internet Files on my desktop and check in there regularly to delete everything. Anyone else getting this odd message?
I've done everything there but restart my computer, since that takes an incredibly long time and means entering my username and password at least 5 times. I guess I'll wait and see if it's still doing it tomorrow.

Actually Macs switch back and forth between ATI and NVidia. Currently they are on an NVidia kick. My 17" has the NVidia 8600M in it.
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you hadn't already done the basics. I was thinking the link to the workaround was the important bit of info.
Last time I looked I guess they were on an ATI kick. Cool that they are going Nvidia right now, I sorta like Nvidia better.

No problem. I just get so frustrated with the systems here. Why have I been having a problem with gmail all along? Who knows? I got lectured for not having my files on the server, when they've never given me a secure folder there, so if I use the server everyone can access my files. Of course, I was the only one who could work when our server went down last week. So there was that.
So, at the moment, though I have heard it is possible to get Pro Tools up and running on Leopard, I'm generally leaning toward making my Mini my Pro Tools machine.
However, if I want to keep the rig portable, I'll need a different LCD monitor. The one I have now is not terribly portable. A cursory scan of places like Best Buy and Staples is giving me a 17" monitor as the smallest available. The smallest PC Club is offering is 15". Anybodyknow if I can find a 13" any more?
