Also, GC, I am so with you on the iPhone UI *LOVE*. As long as I have any kind of pokey appendage, I can use my iPhone. *LOVE*!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

But you'd need two pokey appendages to do a lot of the cool UI tricks

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Windows Vista (which I have only looked at/heard reports second hand)

Eh. It doesn't bother me. It helps to have turned off the User Account Control.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

The funny thing with Vista User Account Control is that it's actually a good idea. To prompt you when a program is making a big system change, for security reasons (clamp down on viruses, etc). Mac OSX does it, as does Ubuntu etc. The problem is in Vista is that that seems to prompt all the time.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

To prompt you when a program is making a big system change, for security reasons

I'm sorry but "You are about to view information transmitted over the internet" (i.e., OMG, YOU OPENED INTERNET EXPLORER!!!!) hardly qualifies as a big system change. And yet, the prompts. OH DEAR GOD THE PROMPTS.

That doesn't sound like a UAC prompt, though. Although I agree it's stupid. I've never quite figured why both IE and Firefox warn about transmitting information over the internet might be insecure. Duh.
