Sir? I'd like you to take the helm, please. I need this man to tear all my clothes off.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Damn. The price is certainly right, but I'm really not qualified to comment further.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Gris, Yahoo!Mail Classic is working fine for me, including the search feature.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I think I got this HP for like $400 on sale, so now I think that's what computers cost! I'm cheap, but I realize my needs are pretty basic, so why not.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Jesse, you might want 2GB of memory, but it should be pretty easy to buy additional memory and install it yourself.

This kind of cracks me up:

This laptop delivers a striking design whose overall rectilinear shape is repeated in patterns throughout the system, from the cut-out speaker grill to the vents on the bottom casing.

It's Rectangular! !!!1!

Jesse, 1Gb of RAM is the bare minimum for Vista, so the new laptop might still seem "a little poky."

Also, a 15-inch display in in the widescreen format will have less vertical space than your current 15-incher.

Hey. New board.

Gris, Yahoo!Mail Classic is working fine for me, including the search feature.

Grr.... thanks, dcp. Maybe it's something weird with my network here or something.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, this Compaq has the 2GB of RAM (and some other stuff?) for $100 more than their list price on the cheap one. How hard/expensive is it to install that myself? I would definitely be down with fixing up a $500 computer to make it into a $700 computer, if that's the main difference.

Ah, that's what I was worried about.

OK, seriously? [link] That looks pretty easy. Hmmm. Maybe I'll do this. (I hate when I start idly browsing and find something on sale -- I feel like I must get it now!)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Anyone have any tips for scanning from a networked Epson CX7400 (connected to an Airport Express) from a Mac?

I can print just fine, but the scan application won't even open unless I connect the printer directly to my computer. The Epson troubleshooting pages are utter crap.

FWIW, I was never able to solve this issue on our old HP printer, so I'm not terribly optimistic.
