If you've ever been reading an article on the web and wondered exactly what some word in the article meant, but were too lazy to go look it up, this tip is for you...

TIP: Position your cursor over the word in question and press "control-command-d". Hold down "control" and the "Apple" key, then press the "d" key.

Hey, has anyone bought a digital camera off of eBay from a warehouse re-seller? There's an auction from one with very good feedback for the camera I've been pining after. [link]

The camera is listed in "Very Good" condition; the only described flaw is small scratches on the LCD screen. Should I watch the auction and try to snipe it later tonight? Or should I run away, save my pennies, and just buy the damn thing new from Amazon?

I am feeling very pleased with myself! I am currently backing up my stuff en masse for the first time ever. I got a LaCie, because I thought I remembered people mentioning the brand here, and it was the cheapest. Good call?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wish I could pull off a Time Capsule solution for my mixed OS network. But after this HD replacement, I really need *something*. I have a cursed touch when it comes to hard drives, especially boot partitions.

I just want something simple and behind the scenes.

OK, this is possibly a dumb question, but do I need to keep the backup drive plugged in, or can I just keep it in a drawer?
