I have a Brother multi-function printer that cost about $100.00, and the quality of the scans and the printing is much better than my Canon, which was judged by someone who ought to know the best little printer of its year the year it came out, and a year later was found to have faulty print heads. Replacing the ink on the Brother cost almost $100.00, though. I always forget to check the cost of replacement ink when I'm shopping for a printer.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I called ahead to the Michigan Ave. Apple store to make sure they had the 500GB Time Capsule in stock. They said they did, so I went downtown to find the 500GB ones out of stock. So I got a 1TB one instead. Just unpacked it - it has a nice chemical smell that I enjoy sniffing.
Will report back later. If you don't hear from me, assume I became addicted to the fumes....
oh no. Tommyrot is gonna be passed out from the fumes, drooling on the keyboard... again. Happens every time he gets new toys.
If you don't hear from me, assume I became addicted to the fumes....
Which would help explain why the bait and switch worked.
Heh. (to both of you.)
Took me forever to get my MacBook to see the new network and get IP address with DHCP. Turns out you need to click on that final "Apply" button before any changes take effect. Duh.
eta: It's nice to see "Available: 929.3 GB of 929.5 GB" for my Time Machine.
Turns out you need to click on that final "Apply" button before any changes take effect. Duh.Yup, the fumes have effected brain functions. Quick! Get him some oxygen!!!
ION, doncha just love it when you figure out the problem AFTER you e-mail tech support? ::head-desk:: I reinstalled VectorWorks after my lovely hard drive failure of a few weeks ago. They came out with a service pack update. But my s# wouldn't work. Ya, turns out I had installed v12 and not v2008. So the SP s# was like "nope, wrong version dude". D'oh!
My gmail account has suddenly been flooded with a ton of bounces, and what's bouncing is spam. Someone's clearly forged my e-mail address to send your typical "add inches to your johnson!" spam.
Should I be worried?
Should I be worried?
Nah. As you've already deduced, they're just using your address and haven't actually done anything to your account; there's very little chance you'd be able to trace the culprits, and they'll move on to a different address in a matter of hours or days. Plus, the likelihood of anyone you actually know getting a spam from your address and getting hosed off at you is amazingly tiny.
Plus, if one of my friends sent me an "add inches to your johnson!" email I'd be very amused. Unless it was a lady friend. Or my mum.
Connie, I have a Razr from AT&T just sitting here.
It's going to be a while before I'm actually in phone shopping mode. This will be the first cellphone in the family, as Hubby is more often than not at home. But thank you very much.
