Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Gack. I'm adding a new member to my electronic family and I'm all unprepared. I need an ethernet hub for the living room now. Reflexively I want one that can run that dd-wrt firmware my wireless router is running, but it's not a wireless router...though I could put a wireless one in and just make the signal stronger out there...

That may be pointless, but is it feasible?

And, wow, I have to buy network cables. I've never had to buy them before. This is weird.

Is there any reason to keep Windows 95 and 98 boot disks? I'm tackling my long-neglected office. I'm also trying to think of some kind of Martha Stewart thing to do with a plastic drawer for floppies. It's sturdy. It has sides. CDs won't fit.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Do you still have any Windows 95/98 computers? If not, then toss 'em.

No, I don't. Any of you people with ancient computer collections need them?

Related question: I have 6 zip disks. I no longer have a zip drive. They contain a five- or six-year-old backup, so it's possible that there's something sensitive in there. Hulk smash?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Give them to a toddler?

Ginger, I believe the solution is probably staring you right in the eyes. Or the knees, rather, if I remember someone's stature correctly.

Our wings are not tired

That will lead to a whole different sort of data dump.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Can I share my geek find of the day? It's an email obfuscator that uses PHP to generate a random cipher of your email address. It then dynamically generates javascript with the decryption key, making it extremely difficult for bots to harvest the address. Neat!

Mothra, benevolent winged goddess, protector of the earth.

Does anyone know if a disk recorded in m4a will play on regular CD players? It plays fine in my car, but I don't have another CD player to test it on. I'm on a MAC and giving GarageBand a trial run.

Thanks!
