Thanks, Maria!

I don't have a Costco membership though. How much does one of those run?

(I think we might know someone with a membership, but I don't know who, and I doubt they're available to go TV shopping today.)

Our wings are not tired

Vizio has been getting very good reviews for the budget LCD lines. We've got a 27" Westinghouse that we've been pretty happy with. I'm kinda meh on my ESA 42" Plasma, but it's also a few years old and only EDTV, not HD. The picture quality is pretty good, but the controls leave a lot to be desired.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

If you are considering monitors, Sean, be sure and check that the connectors are compatible with your other equipment. I could get by without a tuner, but my receiver has no outputs that a monitor will accept, which takes surround sound out of the picture.

I've got a 37" Westinghouse that I'm happy with, too. They seem to be a good value.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

$50, and it's worth every penny. If the TV dies on you in 10 years, you can take it back and get a full refund as long as you have your receipt. I'll never buy electronics anywhere else (as long as they have what I want and it makes fiscal sense).

Ann, that's a ferret.

Not to mention that, if you're able to store things bought in bulk, the membership pays for itself real fast. We'll do a Costco Run about 2-3 times a year to stock up on paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, and so on. Because one pack of 20 rolls of paper towels lasts a while.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I think the $$ you'd save on a tv is worth the membership. - We only use our membership 4 to six times a year , but it seems to be worth it for us.

We went with the Costco membership and the 32" Vizio TV. I had other people say good things about it when I was at Costco, so I think that was the best choice for the money we had.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This is very bad news, since E and I have already decided to join Costco as soon as we move, and that is a very good price for a 32" LCD HDTV.

Bad Costco! No tempting!

Oh good deals on nice TVs doesn't even begin to describe the temptations available at Costco. Thankfully they're crowded and crowds make me crazy, so I insisted we get out of there as quickly as possible....

....after a quick pass through the store, and some minor purchases to go along with the TV.
