Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Anyone hang out on getacoder.com? There's a guy looking for someone to code him an operating system. Is he for real?

Hi,

So I'm posting for a rather large project. I need someone to program me a new OS (Operasting System) that looks different than Ms Windows XP etc. but has the same style. It does not need to run on a mac but all the other PCs. It's supposed to have a stylish look with clear edges etc. And ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE JUST A REDESIGNED WINDOWS as I'm going to sell that operating system later on. It's going to be called BlueOrb.

These are some important points :

It should have ALL THE FEATURES that Windows Xp Professional has. ALL the files that run on Windows XP ust also run on the BlueOrb OS. It must have a very user-friendly interface (like MS WINDOWS XP)

When it gets Installed, the user needs to insert a serial number. It HAS to be HACKER SAFE!

It must be quick and good looking.

Note that I only accept quality work and do not want any quickly done BS.

He's looking to pay $1000-$3000 for this.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I get faster answers to questions when I ask here.

I have a series 2 Tivo. I recieved a dvd- writer for xmas. The idea was to hook things up to my computer, but it is damn slow. the faster box - well it died.

DVD - writer is usb ( aren't they all ) can I use it connected directly to the Tivo box?

Our wings are not tired

The short answer is, unfortunately, no.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You'll need a PC on which you can install Tivo To Go, and then you can get a hacking program that breaks the DRM on the files you bring over, or you can buy the compatible burning software (I think it's Sonic).

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

This is a perfect time for me to ask this question... I downloaded a program, which I'm using on a trial basis, that edits commercials and saves .tivo files as different formats. The .mpg files I created look fine on playback, but when I set up a DVD creation (using Nero, which came with my DVD drive), the picture is squeezed in on either side. It's set at 4:3, and if I try to convert to 16:9, it just squeezes it on the top and bottom too. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Stupid question time: Why does my DVR have a SmartCard slot when any television show would take up more memory than a smart card has? What's it for ?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey, I don't know what you people did, but many of the browser address line icons are showing up now! Good times.
