iMovie, maybe? Sorry, I haven't played around enough to have any better idea, I just paid up for Quicktime Pro....

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Stephanie, MPEG StreamClip. BFF of Mac vidders everywhere!
Does anyone have one of the HD TiVos yet? I'm looking for owner opinions. I've been poking around Weaknees now that I've seen that TiVo will let you transfer your lifetime account (but for $199!) from an older model. I wrinkle my nose at "(no video transfer from the unit)".
THeo, I tried iMovie first but it converted the clip into 12GB AND had sound only.
I"ll try the other suggestions - thanks!

I have one. I thought that the $199 lifetime service transfer was a limited time offer that expired near the beginning of this year. Has that changed?
As far as the no tivo-to-go (no video transfer) issue, that's currently true, but supposedly they're going to start pushing through a software update that will allow it in the next month or so.
Jon,
the offer goes until 11/8
Hmm. That makes it a bit more palatable.

Huh. I'd no idea they extended it. Cool.
Wake up - it's time to die buy a new HD for my MacBook.
Poking around here [link] - how much of a performance difference will I notice for the various RPM drives (say, between 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm)? I'm looking to get a drive between 160GB and 250GB for my 2 GHZ MacBook.I might want to, say, save a movie to HD and play it. Not sure how much video editing I'll be doing in the future. Is 5400 rpm adequate?
eta: And any recommendations on drive manufacturers?
