Thanks Jessica!
Also, is there any/much difference between the new iPod "classic" 80G and the video iPod 80G. Our school has the older one on clearance for $200
The Classic has the new software which has shinier visual effects, but as far as I've seen, it doesn't actually do anything different from the 80GB 5G.
sophia,
I recieved some $$ for my birthday and am thinking of getting an iPod that plays videos. Does anyone know if there is some sort of hack/way for it to play non-itunes videos, and where I would look for that-- say if I wanted to play fanvids that are .avi?
FWIW, I like ipodifier (PC) to convert ipod videos. It is much more consistent than videoera, IME.
I have a 80G Video and I really like it. I really like the ability to play video podcasts.
I've read in various places that the iPod "classic" has slightly worse sound quality. I'd go with the previous model.
Eek! I just ordered an iPod Classic!
I've got an iPod Classic and the sound quality issues aren't there for 99.9% of the population. Most of those reports on sound quality are coming from the same sorts of folks who will spend hundreds of dollars of a couple of feet of speaker cable. Not your average Joe Consumer.
Huh. Weird. Sounds like a bug introduced with a codec change.
Heijligers suggests that Apple may be able to fix the problem through a firmware update.
Let's hope so.
The first article says many people might not even notice the difference.
x-posty.
My ears are pretty sensitive to minor changes, so I'm wondering if I'd notice....
Oh, good. I didn't want anything to dampen my excitement for my shiny new toy.
