I think I would try using the MAXIFS function. If your names are in column A and dates in column B and you put a new column of names in D (copy and pasting and removing duplicates and sorting, or whatever) you can enter "=today()" in E1 and use the formula =MAXIFS($B:$B,$A:$A,$D2,$B:$B,"<"&$E$1) to get the last date before today in column E and =MAXIFS($B:$B,$A:$A,$D2,$B:$B,"<"&$E2) in column F to get the previous to last date

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Dcp, I can sort, but if I have 10 or 15 names, it makes it hard to see, which is why I wanted a formula or table—otherwise I’d just have to sort and then filter for each name and manually enter the info. Doable for a few names, not so much when it’s a bigger list.
Thanks t, I’ll give it a shot!
Are Duck Donuts a thing anywhere else? The business model is a doughnut topped with stuff, like bacon. link
I LOVE Duck Donuts.
They have a bunch of locations around NC (the Duck in the name is the teeny-tiny town of Duck on the outer banks, not an actual avian duck), but I don't know if they've gone much further afield.
Popping in very quickly with a request (cross-posted with Natter): Facebook has disabled my account and given me 30 days to request a review. Does anyone have tips or tricks to get it back? Thanks.
Does anyone use and like some kind of inter-office messaging type system? One of my practices was using a messenger program to send messages from reception to the various individuals and groups, but it is ancient and I can't support it. Biggest issue is that it runs on the desktop but users are usually in cloud sessions and the message doesn't pop up on top of the remote session and just sits hidden on the desktop.
I've been using Slack for quite a few years and it's been pretty effective.
I played with Slack a little but it wasn't giving me the kind of pop ups I was looking for.. It could be just a configuration of notification thing. I might spend some more time with it this weekend.
There are a lot of integrations available for Slack so you might be able to use something to make a more prominent notification. I know that I get prompted about Slack messages in the App on my computer, and then a notification that buzzes my phone, and also one that buzzes my watch.
